SIGNS I MIGHT NEED A NEW ROOF
Bald spots where granules are missing and visual identification of debris on the roof deck.

If you see the following signs, know that a leak could damage your home and rot your wood and cost more money in the long run to repair. Prepare and repair now! You will save money in the long run. Your roof needs an examination by Excalibur Roofing if you see the following:
Are your neighbors getting new roofs?
That means you are probably due for a new roof as well. If your house was built around the same time as your neighbors, your roof has seen the same weather damage and is most likely nearing its useful life end.
DO YOU SEE:
BALD SPOTS
CURLED SHINGLES
Shingle edges are curled or shingle tabs are cupped.

WATER SPOTS
Water spots on your ceiling or walls. Knowing you have a roof leak is usually obvious when you see the water spot on your ceiling. However, it can be much harder to pinpoint the cause of the leak. You may assume your shingles are at fault, but it could be missing flashing around a chimney, or some other entry point, that’s allowing the water to get inside your attic. Once inside the attic, water can travel along rafters and other horizontal surfaces making it difficult to find the exact entry point.

MISSING SHINGLES
Shingle missing from your roof? If shingles are missing, cracked or otherwise damaged, water can, over time, begin to leak into the home. A leak can start out small and slowly cause a lot of damage if a warning sign is ignored.

DAMAGED SHINGLES
Cracked or damaged shingles.

DAMAGED FLASHING
Missing or damaged flashing or boot covers to roof penetrations.

ATTIC WATER SPOTS
Water spots or wet roof decking (seen through the attic).

MOSS
Moss or algae: both hold moisture and should be removed.
